Carpe Diem – ‘Japanese Garden’

Our mission at Carpe Diem in this post, should we choose to accept it, is to compose haiku or tanka inspired by the photo. I chose tanka because I love the form.

in the Zen garden
at the edge of the pond
I see a fish
upside down
looking me in the eye

the constant din
of a waterfall
in the tranquil park
of a sunny afternoon
makes me see green

solitude
amid the hubbub
I hear myself think
in the pond
the fish turn their backs
